Setting up your dialup networking - Windows 95 and 98
Setting up your dial-up networking is easy. We've created these step-by-step instructions to make it even easier.
STEP 1
Double click on "My Computer"
STEP 2
Double click on "Dial-Up Networking"
STEP 3
Double click on "Make New Connection"
STEP 4
Under "Type a name for the computer you are dialing," type Exa Networks
STEP 5
Click the "Configure" button
STEP 6
Check that the appropriate speed for your modem is selected (for 14.4 modems use 19200, for 28.8 modems use 38400 and for 33.6 and 56K modems, use 57600.)

Make sure that "Only connect at this speed" is not checked.

Click the "OK" button.

Click the "Next" button

In the "Area code and Telephone number" text boxes, type the Exa Networks access number: 0845 111 2 111

Click the "Next" button.

Click the "Finish" button.

Click the Exa Networks icon.

From the menu bar, click "File" and select "Properties."

Click the "Server Type" button.

For "Type of Dial-Up Server," select PPP: Windows 95, Windows NT 4, Internet

Uncheck "Log on to network."

Check "Enable software compression."
STEP 19
Uncheck "Require encrypted password."
STEP 20
Uncheck "NetBEUI."
STEP 21
Uncheck "IPX/SPX Compatible."

Check "TCP/IP."

Click the "TCP/IP Settings button."

Select the "Server assigned IP address" button.

Select the "Specify name server addresses" button.

In the "Primary DNS" text box, type 82.219.4.24
STEP 27
In the "Secondary DNS" text box, type 82.219.4.25
STEP 28
Check both "Use IP header compression" and "Use default gateway on remote network."

Click the OK button.

Click the OK button.

Click the OK button to close the window.
Congratulations! You have successfully set up your dialup Internet connection!
Helpful hint:
You may want to place a shortcut to your dialup connection on your desktop to make connecting to the Internet easier. To do this, follow the directions below:
Right click the Exa Networks icon.
Choose Create Shortcut.
A shortcut will appear. Simply click and drag it to your desktop
