BGP Multi-homing Network Solution
A government funded IT trainer required a solution to replace their existing wireless and leased line connectivity to provide them with both a faster and more reliable service, whilst keeping to a fixed budget.
Our solution was to provide two diverse internet gateways through ourselves and a secondary ISP and run a BGP multi-homed network.
By load balancing the outbound traffic we were able to increase the performance and speed to the end user, and split the incoming traffic preferred routes, therefore utilising both connections.
In the event that either gateway should be unavailable, all traffic is automatically diverted to the alternate gateway, giving the customer the fail over they required well within their budgetary requirements.
Large Online Game Hosting Solution
An established online game developer came to us with a requirement for the hosting and management of a large scale online multiplayer game. The system required over 40 servers for hosting the game itself, with a further 10 as database servers for user accounts and login.
Network latency had to be extremely low, with a highly specified service level agreement offering maximum uptime and availability. We also provided a full security consultancy and implemented a state of the art firewall solution to offer the company and its customers the highest level of security whilst not affecting the speed and reliability of the game.
Our proposal exceeded all of the requirements, and saved the customer over £150,000 on their previous hosts costing for the same solution. The game is played by over 75,000 players online constantly.
Cost Saving Connectivity
One of our retail customers was using private circuits (leased lines) to connect the master stock control database at their central warehouse to their outlying stores. By utilising ADSL and cost effective firewall solutions we were able to replace the leased lines, thereby significantly reducing costs (a saving of over £5000 p.a. per line.)
Additionally, the speed of data transfer between sites was increased, reducing timeout errors when large updates were performed following stock taking. The solution is fully scalable for future stores to simply be added on to the system.
Mailbrain Database Integration
A market leading mail order retailer using Sanderson's Mailbrain stock control software approached us to redevelop their ecommerce website, incorporating real-time back end warehouse to website database integration.
We were able to meet all the requirements in the client's brief, including real time stock updating, sales order processing, full postal software integration and email marketing list management for around 25% less than the clients alternative quotes.
