Exa Networks is now offering a completely automated, low cost and easy to manage remote backup service designed for use in Education.
Back-up your vital data off site, ideal for Sims data, Staff User area even your Network Systems information. You can even back up staff laptops from home or school.
This affordable backup service provides you with piece of mind knowing that in the event of a disaster at your premises, you lose your laptop or forget to change back-up tapes your data will be quickly recovered letting you get back to work. Replacing computers is easy; it's the data on those computers that hold the real value. Our remote backup service negates the need to change tapes every night
Our Remote Backup service consists of a small piece of software installed onto your server or the computers which hold the data you want to protect and can run on a schedule, or whenever you click the button, backing up the files you specify.
Before being sent over the internet your data is encrypted so it can't be viewed or modified along the way. Only you hold the password used to encrypt the data so not even we at Exa Networks can see the contents of your files on our servers.

How Does the System Work ?
The backup software can be installed on Windows, Mac, Linux, NetWare and almost any other operating system which supports Java.
Once installed a simple setup wizard will guide you through selecting the files and folders you want to backup and also set a schedule.
You can have multiple backup 'sets' defined backing up different data on different schedules. For example, you can backup your important data every day, but your music only once a week. Your data is encrypted with a password which you choose then sent over the internet to our servers.

As with all of Exa's product and services, we specialise specifically in a market place, and not trying to build a product to meet everyones needs; and our ABS system is no different.
