The College had two 2Mb ADSL connections using another ISP, these were working separately giving us two channels of 2Mb download and just 256k upload.

We needed more download speed for College lessons and also a greater upload speed, to allow remote access for pupils. We contacted Exa Networks regarding both their Bonded ADSL product and new filtering product "surfprotect™". We found their staff very approachable and always happy to give prompt help.

We decided to migrate all our services to Exa and bond both the ADSL's together. This would give us a full 4Mb download and 512k upload, we had looked into load balanced solutions but this would give us 2 channels of 256k upload and not a combined 512k, which is what we needed for the remote access. Exa installed a fully managed Cisco router which did the bonding back into their network.

The solution now gives us the speed required for a quarter the cost of a leased line, this combined with Exa's free web content filtering has saved us a lot of time and expense. We know if we ever have any kind of problem we can also contact our Exa account manager any time via mobile phone and the problem will be looked at immediately.
