In February 2011 we became an ‘Outstanding’ Primary Academy.

Due to the change in status we felt quite strongly that our ICT should be reflective of our academy, and bring us to the forefront of technology.

We had many issues to resolve and the first in line was the Broadband, at the time provided by a third party for the Local Authority. Not only was the Broadband extremely expensive, the bandwidth was slow, security was inconsistent and often slack, and we were extremely limited over the control of this service.

It was during our transition that we were introduced to Matt from Exa Networks, who explained in clear terms exactly what we could expect from their company and their Broadband provision. Firstly and most importantly for us was the security, particularly for safeguarding our pupils. The Exa package gives you already secure broadband as well as complete control over the internet security for your school, which is simple and easy to use. Secondly, you no longer share your broadband with other schools in the county, allowing considerably faster internet connectivity and speed (no more system crashes at crucial points).

On top of this you are provided with your own domain, which allows pupils to have access to a child friendly internet based email service and all staff to have school email addresses.

We have been using Exa Networks for 5 months, during which time the service has been second to none. The service we receive has allowed our school to work faster and more efficiently than ever before, and has definitely proved beyond all doubt that Value for Money has been achieved.

I would have no hesitation in recommending Exa Networks to other education sectors.
